We Are Hidden Treasures

Supporting individuals to develop resilience and positive mental health
by tapping into their inner, creative resources; their hidden treasures.

Hidden Treasures was first established by Jessie Ellinor and Steph Coombes in 2007.

As experienced Health and Care Profession Council (HCPC) registered Arts Therapists (Drama), working in schools to support pupils’ wellbeing, we were often asked by teachers, with humour, ‘When can we have a session?’ ‘When is it our turn?’ We listened to what lay beneath this humour and heard how staff were in real need of more support with managing the emotional and psychological impact of their work. Hidden Treasures was developed to meet this need, by providing a high quality service for both pupils and staff in education.

At Hidden Treasures we
  • Offer supervision to staff in schools to support reflective practice and wellbeing
  • Provide training to staff to develop communication, creative confidence and team building
  • Facilitate dramatherapy sessions for referred pupils

Jessie and Steph

We met in 2003, whilst training on the Drama and Movement Therapy MA at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (RCSSD) in London. As students, we first worked together on placement on a Forensic psychiatric ward and then in a special school for pupils with ASD. After qualifying and registering with the HCPC as Arts Therapists (Drama), we were both employed to run joint dramatherapy sessions in schools, for Roundabout Dramatherapy; the largest Dramatherapy Charity in the UK.

Our passion to therapeutically hold a safe and creative space to support all children and young people to thrive, has been present in our practice from the very beginning. As our experience has grown, so has our interest and curiosity in systemic practice; understanding the importance of supporting the staff and families that surround and influence the child or young person. Hidden Treasures brings these interests together.

Please be assured that our regulation by the HCPC - an independent, UK-wide health regulator - means that we adhere to their standards of proficiency in our training, professional skills, behaviour and health. As full members of the British Association of Dramatherapists (BADth), we follow their code of ethics in all areas of our work, including client care and professional practice. We are also members and currently co-chairs of the Creative Arts Supervision Training (CAST) Forum, where we organise CPD training events for qualified supervisors.

What We Offer

Our Services


We tailor our packages to the requirements of the school, offering individual and small group supervision sessions. These can be open or closed groups for a set group of people.

Training Workshops

Within our training days and workshops, we use the art forms of play, drama, art, stories, games, music and meditation to offer opportunities for staff to connect in with themselves and others in potentially new and different ways.

Dramatherapy can be a long-term or short-term intervention; offered individually or in groups. Creative methods of expressing and relating are used to support a wide a range of client needs and ages.
